Pro-bono work.

Every year, I take on a limited amount of pro bono or heavily discounted work, mainly for small charities and deserving social enterprises. Regrettably because of the high level of interest I receive for pro bono or discounted support from across the third sector in particular, I am only able to consider applications for a few causes particularly close to my heart, and I prioritise small charities who could never normally afford someone like me for support.

Please note that I can only provide pro-bono support for specific projects with clear, tangible goals that you want to achieve, or for strategic advice retainers. I am unable to offer my time on a permanent, ongoing basis to non-paying clients.

My selection criteria.

To submit a pro bono application, your organisation must work substantially on one of the following issues:

+ Mental health and wellbeing, particularly for small charities or social enterprises focused on the needs of young people, men, or people with frequently stigmatised conditions.
+ Support for carers, but especially young carers.
+ Domestic abuse, domestic violence, child abuse, child neglect or child exploitation.
+ The needs of refugees, asylum seekers or immigrant communities.
+ Improving access to sport and fitness among disadvantage groups.

If your organisation doesn't qualify but you are in need of a freelancer's help, please still consider getting in touch with me and being honest about your budget. I may still be able to help.

How to apply.

Email probono@petegaffney.co.uk with a clear pitch that includes:

(1) Who you are and what the organisation you work for does.
(2) A link to any relevant, publicly available financial information about your organisation (e.g. charity commission website).
(3) A link to your website if you have one.
(4) What the nature of the project you need support with is including key deliverables and timelines.
(5)  A clear explanation of the financial situation that means you lack the budget to pay for my services.
